Gallery Series

Part of the Gallery Series, this one-of-a-kind mosaic measures 29 x 29 cm (11.5 x 11.5 inches) and is an original artwork by Dutch artist Paulien de Boer.

Each mosaic is individually composed and crafted entirely by hand, making every piece truly unique. Fragments of iconic KLM houses are carefully brought together with reclaimed blue glass, creating a new composition in which heritage, craftsmanship and contemporary art meet.

The KLM house fragments are sourced directly from the manufacturer responsible for producing the houses for KLM. Only damaged or rejected pieces are used, ensuring that no new or collectible houses are intentionally broken for the creation of these artworks.

The distinctive blue glass is reclaimed from used wine and water bottles and carefully selected for its colour, texture and transparency. Together, these materials are transformed into a completely new work of art — giving value to fragments that would otherwise be discarded.

Every Gallery Series mosaic is a unique composition and will never be recreated in exactly the same way.

Please note: Product photographs are taken before the final resin finish is applied. This minimizes reflections and allows the intricate details, textures and individual fragments to be shown as clearly as possible. Before shipment, each artwork is finished with a crystal-clear, high-gloss resin topcoat and completed with Paulien's signature wax seal.
