Heritage Series

This one-of-a-kind mosaic, measuring 46 × 29 cm (18 × 11.5 inches), is an original artwork by Dutch artist Paulien de Boer.

Entirely composed by hand, the work brings together carefully selected fragments of iconic KLM houses and reclaimed blue glass. The ceramic fragments are sourced directly from the manufacturer of the KLM houses and originate from materials that can no longer be used — ensuring that no new or collectible houses are intentionally damaged in the creation of the artwork.

Fragments of recycled blue glass, reclaimed from used wine and water bottles, are individually selected and placed throughout the composition.

Together, these discarded materials are transformed into a contemporary artwork that carries fragments of Dutch heritage — preserving their history while giving them an entirely new form.

Each mosaic is unique in composition and created only once.
